My first initial encounter with the foundational principles of yoga and mindfulness occurred during a period of dealing with unrecognized trauma in early 2013. At that point, I was in the process of uprooting my life to the West Coast and questioning the nature of my purpose. I was grappling with questions about the organized religious upbringing I had since childhood and navigating the challenges of an estranged father who ceased communication with me when my parents separated at the age of 17.
In an attempt to fill the void, I had sought solace in various relationships, only to find more pain and abuse than comfort. During that period, I sought sanctuary in classes, communities, and individuals who provided a haven where I could simply exist without the pressure to unravel the complexities of my identity.
When I relocated to Los Angeles in 2014, a turning point came when someone recommended the book "You Are Here" authored by the revered Buddhist monk Thich Nhat Hanh. Spending significant time alone in LA, I immersed myself in attending classes, reading books, and consciously embarking on a journey of self-healing and listening to my body for the first time. This book became my lifeline, and the practice of presence became my liberation. Without it, I can only wonder where I would be today.
Through it all, it ignited a passion to embark on a teaching career in healing and mindfulness practices. I have served as a teacher, a guiding voice, and a devoted mentor in the realm of alternative healing since 2015. My journey, deeply rooted in meditation, breath-work, vinyasa, yin, restorative, bhakti yoga, and sound healing, has shaped me into the spiritual guide I am today.
My classes serve as an invitation to delve into introspection and self-inquiry, encouraging individuals to explore the profound depths of their being. I weave the wisdom of traditional Hindu and Buddhist philosophies, the holistic path of the 8 limbs, spiritual enlightenment, and the art of presence into my classes, workshops, and ceremonies.
My ever-evolving intention is to facilitate an intentional dialogue with the physical and subtle aspects of the human body. I have a passion for crafting both vigorous and energized asana practices and serene, meditative experiences. My role as a guide and teacher is to provide a nurturing sanctuary where individuals feel acknowledged and held.
As an eternal learner, I dedicate my life to the ancient wisdom and teachings passed down by those who preceded me. I deeply honor and give reverence to the guidance of my ancestors and sages, as I aspire to create a sacred space for others. I firmly believe that an intentional life paves the way for a path guided by the heart, fostering a profound connection with all living things.
